Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on soft tissue work, joint mobilization and a smarter load for the week take the edge off, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The first three steps out of bed you brace for. The ankle you still don’t trust on uneven ground. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not another insole.

Why It Happens
Where you feel it is rarely where it started. Foot and ankle pain is usually some mix of four things: a plantar fascia or a tendon getting loaded faster than it can rebuild. An ankle that lost motion after an old sprain nobody ever rehabbed. A calf and hip that stopped doing their share, so your foot absorbs everything they skipped. And a change you barely registered, new shoes, more miles, a job on concrete, that tipped one tissue past its limit.
None of that shows up in a glance at your arch. It takes a cause-first evaluation to find which link in the chain is actually failing. That’s why inserts, a night splint, or rest alone so often buy a few good weeks and then hand the pain right back: they change what your foot lands on, not what your ankle, calf and hip are doing above it. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
You didn’t stop walking because you gave up. You stopped because every step started costing something. Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for a foot or an ankle.

Pain
Hands-on soft tissue work, joint mobilization and a smarter load for the week take the edge off, starting your very first visit.
Once the pain settles
Prime
Ankle and big toe motion come back, because a stiff ankle sends the force of every step somewhere it was never built to go.
Once motion returns
Perform
Calf, foot and hip strength get rebuilt alongside single-leg balance, so the tissue can take load instead of just surviving it.
Before you are cleared
Prevent
Walking, stairs, hills, cutting and landing get tested under real load, and your footwear and mileage get a plan: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
I had been having knee and ankle pain for a couple years that I tried to alleviate using methods I saw in YouTube videos without much success. So I called Christian because he had helped my wife with her shoulder pain. It wasn’t instant but I stuck with it and just went for my first walk in two years.

Questions, Answered
Sometimes they help, and they are genuinely worth trying. But an insole changes the surface your foot lands on. It does not change what your ankle, calf and hip are doing above it. If motion or strength is the real driver, the insert buys you comfortable weeks and then the pain finds its way back. A cause-first evaluation tells you which one you are actually dealing with before you spend another dollar on inserts.
Because the ligament healed and the ankle never finished. Most sprains get attention until the swelling goes down, then everyone moves on, so the lost joint motion and the balance reflexes never get rehabbed at all. What you are left with is a stiff, slightly hesitant ankle that aches by evening and rolls more easily than it should. That is a very findable problem, and it is exactly what a full evaluation is built to catch.
Usually yes, with the dose adjusted. Complete rest quiets a foot down and leaves it exactly as unprepared as it was before, which is why the pain tends to return the moment you go back to normal life. The skill is loading the tissue enough to build it without tipping it over again. That gets set for your specific foot at your first visit, a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
