Cupping in Hillsborough.

A supporting technique, not the whole treatment. For tissue that will not tolerate a thumb, lifting can do what pressing cannot.

Supporting technique Sensitive tissue Book My Free Consult

What It Is

Pressure, in reverse.

Most hands-on work pushes into tissue. Cupping pulls. A cup creates suction that lifts the skin and the layer underneath, decompressing an area instead of compressing it.

That matters when something is too irritable to press on. Some tissue braces against a thumb and gives nothing back. Lift it instead and it will often tolerate the movement work that comes next, which is the part of the visit that actually changes how you feel next week. The round marks are a normal response to the suction, and they fade on their own.

If you have already tried the foam roller, the massage gun, and waiting it out, this is not more of the same, and it is not magic either. Cupping is a supporting technique inside a plan. It is not a detox, nothing is being pulled out of you, and Dr. Harris will tell you plainly where it fits and where it does not.

What It Helps

Where the lift helps.

Tissue that has been guarding for months rarely settles on its own. It just quietly recruits the area next to it.

What A Session Looks Like

A few minutes of your visit.

1

The area comes from your exam, not from where you have seen cups used online. If cupping is not the right call today, you will hear that instead.

2

The cups go on. You feel a strong pull rather than a pinch, and the suction comes down the moment you ask.

3

Then the window gets used. Movement and loading, while the area will finally tolerate it, in the same visit.

Why It Works

What it buys you.

A way into tissue that would not take pressure.

A calmer area to work with, same visit.

Movement that stops feeling like a fight.

One supporting piece of a plan with an endpoint.

Questions, Answered

Cupping, honestly.

No. The marks are a normal response to suction, and they fade on their own. They are not a score, and a darker circle does not mean a worse problem. If you have a wedding, a photo, or a beach weekend coming up and you would rather not have visible marks, say so and something else gets used instead.

No, and you deserve the honest version rather than the marketing one. Cupping decompresses tissue that will not tolerate direct pressure, which makes a stubborn area easier to treat and easier to move. That is the whole claim, and it is enough to earn the few minutes it takes.
