Vestibular therapy in Hillsborough.

For the room that tilts when you roll over, and the fog that makes a busy aisle feel unsafe. Dizziness has causes, and causes can be tested.

Dizziness and vertigo Balance you trust Book My Free Consult

What It Is

Dizziness is a signal, not a mystery.

Your balance runs on three inputs: the inner ear, your eyes, and your body’s sense of where it is in space. When one of them sends bad information, or the three stop agreeing with each other, you get spinning, floating, unsteadiness, or a head that feels a beat behind the room.

Vestibular therapy retrains that system. Testing comes first, to find which input is misfiring and which positions set it off. Then specific head, eye, and body movements that ask your brain to recalibrate, plus repositioning techniques when the problem is loose crystals in the inner ear.

You have probably started planning around it already. The aisle seat, no ladders, no fast turns, and you have told almost nobody how small the week has gotten. That is not you being fragile. That is a system asking for the right test.

What It Helps

What vestibular therapy is for.

Wait it out and the world keeps shrinking, one avoided movement at a time, until the avoiding feels normal.

What A Session Looks Like

We test before we treat.

1

You talk, he listens, then he tests. Positions, eye movement, balance, and what actually sets your symptoms off.

2

Some of it may make you dizzy. That is expected, it is brief, and you are seated or supported the whole time.

3

You leave with an explanation, the exact movements to do at home, and a plan for driving and daily life until the next visit.

Why It Works

What steadier looks like.

Rolling over without bracing for the spin.

A grocery aisle that stops being an event.

Footing you trust on stairs and uneven ground.

A real explanation for what has been happening.

Questions, Answered

Dizziness, answered.

Sometimes, briefly, and that is part of how it works. Your brain recalibrates by being asked to handle the input it has been avoiding. You start at a level you can tolerate, you are seated or supported, and it gets backed off the moment it is too much. Nothing here is done to you without a warning first.

No referral is needed to start in North Carolina. Your first visit is a full evaluation, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, and if what turns up points to something that belongs with a physician instead, you will be told plainly and pointed in the right direction.

Vestibular therapy coverage depends on your plan, and we would rather tell you straight than guess. Use the free benefits check and we will confirm exactly what your plan covers before you commit to anything. Prefer to just ask a person? Call (336) 214-5308.
