Soft tissue mobilization in Hillsborough.

Hands on the tissue that will not let go, at a pressure chosen for what your body can take today, then changed the moment your body answers back.

What It Is

Hands first. Dialed in by feel.

Soft tissue mobilization is hands-on work applied straight to muscle, tendon, and the sheath around them. Pressure, glide, and sustained contact, aimed at one structure your evaluation flagged rather than at whatever feels sore on the day.

The grading is what sets it apart from every other hands-on option on this site. Depth, speed, and direction all change while the work is happening, because your Doctor of Physical Therapy is reading how the tissue answers. An irritable calf gets a different dose than a stiff mid-back, and both get re-dosed inside the same visit.

It is not a full-body rubdown, and it is not the right first pick if your limit is coming from the joint rather than the tissue around it. That is exactly what the evaluation sorts out, before a hand goes anywhere.

What It Helps

When the tissue is the limit.

You have been the one holding everything together, and you handled this the way you handle everything, quietly. Handling it is not the same as fixing it. Give it another six months and the workaround becomes its own injury.

What A Session Looks Like

Three steps, one visit.

1

We test which tissue is the limit.

2

Hands on, pressure graded to you.

3

You load the new range before you leave.

Why It Works

What actually changes.

You reach the top shelf without planning it.

Mornings stop starting with stiffness.

Training stops ending early.

You know what to do when it tightens again.

Questions, Answered

Straight answers before you book.

No. A deep tissue massage covers a broad area at a pressure you pick. Soft tissue mobilization is aimed at one structure your evaluation flagged, at a depth chosen for how irritable that tissue is right now. Some of it feels firm. Some of it is barely any pressure at all. The dose is a clinical decision, and it changes as you change.

Sometimes, for a day or so, the way a new workout leaves you sore. It fades. Sharp pain during the session is not the goal, so say the word and the pressure changes on the spot. You are working one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, so the person you tell is already the person treating you.

It depends on your plan, and we would rather tell you straight than guess. Use the free benefits check and we will confirm exactly what your plan covers before you commit to anything. Prefer to just ask a person? Call (336) 214-5308.
